Welcome to our company, "The Bomb Shelter", one of the nation's largest stores of its kind selling vintage and antique items from all eras. eBay local pickup is available during business hours, please contact if you need this option!HERE WE HAVE: A set of Danbury Mint "The 25 Great American Sailing Ships" porcelain miniature collector plates! Made in Japan. Each plate features a painting of ship by Robert Devereaux!These come with a wooden case to display the plates!Marked on the backs are the names of each ship, presumably. The plates included are marked as:- Alfred - America - Ann McKim - Bethel - Bone Homme Richard - Challenge - Charles W. Morgan - Columbia - Constitution - Dreadnought- Eagle - Edward Sewall - Flying Cloud - Glory of the Seas - Grand Turk- Great Republic - Henrietta - Lightning - Mary Celeste - Nightingale- President - Rainbow - Red Jacket - Sea Witch - Stag HoundCONDITION: Good, used condition! I ran my finger along the edges of the mini plates and I don't see any chips, breaks or cracks. There are small production flaws like missed glaze spots or small dings to the glaze. It's possible I missed small color loss or stains, but nothing major is popping out to me when I look at them! Several plates have a pink tinted discoloration around the bottom edge, not sure if it's from production or not? Some discoloration color loss spots to the wooden display case. Surface scratches scattered about as well. Will ship exactly as pictured, so please see photos MEASUREMENTS: Each plate is about 4" in diameter. RARE OFFICAL TALL SHIPS FINE CHINA COLLECTION PLATE DEPICTING THE FAMED SHIP "THE CHRISTAIN RADICH" OF NORWAY - LIMITED EDITION ISSUED UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE AMERICAN SAIL TRAINING MATTED AND FRAMED IN SOLID MAPLE NATURAL HARDWOOD PLATE FRAME UNDER PROTECTIVE GLASSPLATE AND SHIP IMAGE ARE BOTH RIMMED IN ELEGANT GOLDTHE STORY OF THE CHRISTAIN Radich is a Norwegian full-rigged ship, named after a Norwegian shipowner. The vessel was built at Framnæs shipyard in Sandefjord, Norway, and was delivered on 17 June 1937. The owner was The Christian Radich Sail Training Foundation, which was established by a grant from an officer of that name [1]Description[edit]The vessel is a full-rigged three-masted [fr] steel hull, 62.5 metres (205 ft) long, with an overall length of 73 metres (240 ft) including the bowsprit and a beam of 9.7 metres (32 ft). It has a draught of approximately 4.7 metres (15 ft) and a displacement at full load of 1,050 tonnes (1,030 long tons; 1,160 short tons). Under engine power, Christian Radich reaches a top speed of 10 knots (12 mph; 19 km/h), while it can make up to 14 knots (16 mph; 26 km/h) under sail.[2] The vessel is maintained by 18 crew members. It can accommodate 88 passengers.The class society of the vessel is Det Norske Veritas, DNV, and is built to +1A1, E0.[citation Radich is well known through the international release of the 1958 Cinemiracle movie Windjammer. In 1980, the vessel won the OpSail 80 race from Boston, USA to Kristiansand, Norway, taking 17 days to do so.
