DANBURY MINT U.S.S. HORNET CV8 NAVY AIRCRAFT CARRIER 1:500 SCALE MODEL IN BOX WOW. Wood base and model is 24"L x 6.5"T x 5.5"W. Styrofoam box is 26"L. This fantastic spot on replica of the Hornet is so correctly detailed. Excellent overall condition with only one of the smallest gun barrels is broken and one small gun is loose and I am pointing at them both. You have to look extremely close to even notice. The U.S.S. Hornet was the carrier that delivered Jimmy Doolittle and his planes (on the deck) to bomb Tokyo, Japan in 1942. The book and movie "THIRTY SECONDS OVER TOKYO" was based on this b
